The Tiburon Explorer, newly built in 2020, offers unforgettable diving experiences in one of the world's most stunning regions – the Galapagos Islands.

The ship's route includes the remote islands of Darwin Island, Wolf Island, and Cousin’s Rock.

The unique biodiversity and incredible abundance of animals, both above and below the water, make the exotic and vast Galapagos region a truly special travel destination.

The ship has space for 16 guests in 9 spacious, air-conditioned cabins on the main and lower decks, each with ocean views.

The yacht also features a partially covered sundeck with a hot tub and plenty of seating, plus a salon area with a dining, bar, and entertainment space.Satellite internet Wi-Fi is also available on board.

CABINS

  • 9 Cabins with space for a total of 16 Guests


    Main Deck: 6 cabins
    – including 4 cabins with twin beds (which can be combined into a Queen Size bed), 2 cabins with Queen beds.
    Lower Deck: 3 cabins – with twin beds (which can be combined into a Queen Size bed), 2 cabins with twin beds.

    Each cabin has its own private bathroom, a flat-screen TV, and a wardrobe.
    The main deck cabins have even larger windows than those on the lower deck, offering breathtaking ocean views.
    Lower deck cabins also come with a small lounge area and a sofa.

FACILITIES

  • Salon & Lounge
    The air-conditioned salon is located on the ship's main deck and is equipped with an entertainment system.
    The lounge area offers plenty of comfortable seating both indoors and outdoors.
  • Sundeck
    The ship features a partially covered sundeck with a hot tub, perfect for extra relaxation between and after your dives.

DINING

  • For breakfast, you'll get eggs, pancakes, toast, and fresh fruit.
    Lunch and dinner are served buffet-style and usually include salad, potatoes, rice, chicken, beef, pork, and fish.
    Between dives, guests can look forward to homemade snacks.
  • Drinks are also included with your meals.

Galapagos is considered the number one diving destination in the world, so it should definitely be on every diver's liveaboard bucket list.

Divers can really enjoy the amazing wildlife of the Galapagos Islands twice over! Think sea lions, penguins, turtles, iguanas, tons of bird species, plus huge schools of fish, sharks, sea turtles, and even whale sharks from September to December.

  • Dive Deck
    The spacious dive deck has a bathroom, a large camera table with charging stations, individual storage spots, rinse tanks for cameras, and another one for your gear.
  • Dives

    On the Humboldt Explorer, you can enjoy up to 4 dives per day (depending on weather and route), and these must follow the rules of the Galapagos National Park. The maximum diving depth is 30 meters.

  • Nitrox
    If you're Nitrox certified, you can get it for an extra charge.
  • Pangas
    Your dives will be done from two big pangas (tender boats), which are super easy to get onto from the dive deck.

Routes and availability

The Tiburon Explorer operates its tours, for example, to and from Baltra.
Below, you'll find the routing description for a classic tour:

Day 1: Baltra
Arrival followed by transfer to the Humboldt Explorer & lunch
Safety briefing & equipment preparation
Dinner

Day 2: Baltra North & North Seymour
Equipment check & 2 dives
Afternoon land visit to North Seymour to observe blue-footed boobies, frigatebirds, sea lions, and marine iguanas
Continue to Darwin & Wolf

Day 3: Wolf Island
4 dives with the option of a night dive instead of the 4th daytime dive
Spotting hammerheads, whale sharks, eagle rays, sea lions, Galapagos sharks, silky sharks
Overnight stay at Wolf Island

Day 4: Wolf & Darwin Island
2 dives at Wolf Island
2 dives at Darwin Island

Day 5: Darwin Island
4 dives
You'll get to see hammerhead sharks, whale sharks, eagle rays, sea lions, Galapagos sharks, and silky sharks.
Then we'll head over to Wolf Island.

Day 6: Wolf Island
3 dives
After that, we'll sail to Cousin's Rock.

Day 7: Cousin's Rock & Santa Cruz
1-2 dives (depending on how long the crossing from Wolf Island takes)
This is an awesome macro dive spot where you have a great chance to see seahorses, sea lions, and eagle rays.
Lunch will be served during our ~3-hour trip to Santa Cruz.
We'll take a trip to the Santa Cruz Highlands to visit the giant tortoises in their natural home.
You can explore Puerto Ayora town and the Darwin Center on your own.
Grab dinner in Puerto Ayora at your leisure.
Head back to the Humboldt Explorer by 8:30 PM (you can also choose to stay on Santa Cruz instead of coming back to the boat).

Day 8: Baltra
At 9:00 AM, we'll transfer you to Baltra Airport for your flights back to Quito or Guayaquil.
