Adventure vacation on the
Nautilus Two –
for divers & non-divers

On the Nautilus Two, you can look forward to some truly unforgettable diving experiences. Our experienced dive guides know the best spots in the Maldives like the back of their hand and will be right there with you as you explore the amazing underwater world.

From manta rays and whale sharks to colorful coral reefs, sunken shipwrecks, and countless shark encounters –
the Maldives truly have something special for every diver.

Even if you're not into diving, the Nautilus Two is still an amazing spot for a super memorable holiday in the Maldivian paradise! The boat has tons of cool activities like snorkeling, stand-up paddleboarding, chilling on the sundeck, exploring islands, BBQ nights, and even fishing trips. It's just perfect for soaking up the beauty of the Maldives, and with all the fancy stuff on board, you're guaranteed an unforgettable time.

Equipped with the "ENOS" emergency & location system

The Nautilus Two is one of the few liveaboard vessels in the Maldives to be equipped with the "ENOS"emergency & location system, which is indispensable for divers.

Because the Maldives can sometimes have strong currents, ENOS makes sure no diver ever gets swept away and lost from the boat. It's a real lifesaver!

Every diver gets their own ENOS transmitter while preparing their gear. It's only 20 cm long and weighs just 165 grams including batteries, so its compact size and light weight won't affect your buoyancy at all.

You can easily attach it to your diving equipment with its pouch, and it will definitely give every diver an even stronger feeling of safety.

Pictures of our Nautilus Two

Our roomy decks have loads of space for all 24 guests, and our kitchen whips up yummy national & international dishes, all made by our super skilled chef.
You can chill out in our lounge areas, maybe catch a gorgeous sunset, or soak up some sun on our huge sundeck, which is almost 400m²!
Even though diving with the Nautilus Two is definitely a major highlight, there are tons of other ways to have an amazing time on your trip.

The facilities of the Nautilus Two

SUNDECK

The foreship

On the foreship below the sun deck, you will find comfortable lounge furniture to relax on. This is an extremely popular spot, as the shaded area and the usually light breeze make it a pleasant place to cool off.
A little further forward, the whirlpool invites you to take a relaxing dip, which we are of course happy to serve with cool drinks.

The stern

Another cool feature on the Nautilus Two is our covered stern. It's about 50m², giving you a comfy outdoor spot to relax, even if it rains a bit!
With its clever design and a freshwater shower, the stern makes it super easy to get in and out of the water for a lovely swim in the stunning Maldivian lagoons or for awesome snorkeling trips with majestic mantas. It's also a cozy little spot for anyone who fancies trying their hand at fishing.

Our Lounge

You'll enjoy breakfast, lunch, and dinner in the Nautilus Two's spacious lounge. We even have a 5-meter-long fishing dhoni that cleverly divides the restaurant and lounge areas, and it doubles as a buffet to show off all our delicious food!

Head over to our super popular and well-stocked Nautilus Bar, where our bartender will happily whip up any refreshing cocktail you fancy! We've got lovely cold draft beer, plus a huge selection of spirits, cocktails, white & red wines, and soft drinks.

You can grab hot tea, coffee, fresh water, and fruit juice anytime, 24 hours a day, totally free! And after those exciting dives, we'll happily bring you some snacks and sandwiches to refuel.

Our Sundeck

Our huge sundeck, nearly 400m², comes with comfy sun loungers and two big lounge areas. Plus, we've got large, protective sun sails, so if you want a shady spot, you'll definitely find one here!

After your dives, this is the perfect place to unwind and relax. You'll also get to enjoy amazing views of the Maldivian islands and those breathtaking sunrises and sunsets!

MAIN DECK

Our Cabins

LOWER DECK

Our 12 spacious and cozy guest cabins, which got a fresh, friendly look after being renovated in summer 2022, offer luxurious accommodation for up to 24 divers during their safari.

They are more spacious than on any other liveaboard in the Maldives. In the cabins, which are on average 20m² in size, you will find a bathroom with WC, a desk with stool and mirror as well as a closet.

Nine of our cabins come with both a king-size double bed and a king-size single bed, making them perfect for twin sharing, even if you're not traveling together.

Three of our cabins – two on the lower deck and one on the main deck – feature a king-size double bed, perfect for couples.

Our cabins have plenty of storage space, so you can easily tuck away your suitcases and dive bags right under the beds.

You can control the air conditioning in your cabin however you like. But if you prefer not to use it, don't worry! Our big roof and side hatches will give you plenty of fresh air and keep things cool.

Layout

We want to make sure you're super comfy on our dive safari, so we've designed the cabins to be uniquely spacious, up to 20m²!

Our cabins are usually for two people, but if you prefer, you can totally ask for a single cabin for an extra fee. Just so you know, 10 cabins are on the lower deck, and 2 are on the main deck.

Every cabin comes with its own bathroom, about 6m², complete with a side window. Inside, you'll find a big vanity, a mirror, a shower, and a toilet. We provide one hand towel and one bath towel per guest, and we're happy to swap them out for fresh ones whenever you like. Plus, there's loads of space to store your books, camera gear, and anything else you bring!

Routes and availability

Questions about the dive safari aboard the Nautilus Two in the Maldives

You'll need at least 40 dives under your belt. Our dive guide can stop someone from diving if they're not ready for the upcoming dive or if they've had too much to drink. Please understand that we can't refund that dive.

If you arrive in Malé in the morning, we usually offer a check dive in the early afternoon of the same day (this depends on your transfer situation) so you can get comfy with your gear again.

If you arrive at noon or in the afternoon, we won't have a check dive on your arrival day, and your first regular dive will be the next day instead.

After the optional check dive on day 1 (which depends on when you arrive), we offer 2-3 dives daily from day 2 onwards. On longer journeys between atolls, we might swap the midday dive for a night dive, if the conditions are right. The captain always has the final say.

Your very last dive will always be in the early morning on the day BEFORE you leave.

If the weather's good, we always try to include a night dive on our safaris, and we're happy to lend you one of our lights for free if you don't have your own.

The Maldives have tons of different dive spots, like:
drift dives along reef edges and channels, dives along a reef or a steep wall, wreck dives, and colorful Thilas (pinnacles). There's definitely something for every diver!

We reach all our dive spots with the dive Dhoni, which stays with the Nautilus Two throughout the whole trip. Depending on the spot, it's usually just a 5 to 20-minute ride away.

This means you'll always have plenty of time to get your dive gear ready without having to wait around too long.

If you need or want to, you can take different diving courses. Since we don't always have an instructor on board for every trip, we'd need to arrange this separately for you. So, please let us know when you make your booking inquiry if you're interested!

We have 12-liter tanks available with either DIN or INT connections, so you won't need to bring an adapter. We also have weights and weight belts on board, but please bring the rest of your dive gear (including your dive computer).

We have a limited number of 14-liter tanks with DIN or INT connections available upon request and pre-order (especially if you use a lot of air). Please let us know about this well in advance too.

Depending on how sensitive you are to cold, we suggest diving with either a 3mm or 5mm wetsuit. A shorty is also an option, but because of the risk of stings, we recommend a full-length suit.

We always recommend bringing your own gear that you're comfortable with. But if you need to, you can definitely rent equipment for a fee. Just let us know when you book, including your sizes, so we can get everything ready for you in advance.

The cost depends on what gear you need. We'll be happy to give you all the details.

Snorkelers are absolutely welcome on board! Depending on the local conditions, you can join the divers on the dive Dhoni. If a dive spot isn't great for snorkeling (maybe it's too deep or has strong currents), we'll take snorkelers to a nearby reef in our dinghy (a small tender boat).

If you'd like, we can arrange a local snorkeling guide for you. We do recommend bringing your own snorkeling gear though.

Absolutely, that's totally fine and quite common with us! Our spacious 20m² cabins for twin occupancy come with both a king-size double bed and a king-size single bed. If you prefer, you can also book a cabin for single occupancy at an extra cost.

Of course, we always make sure that our twin cabins are shared only by guests of the same gender.

After the check dive, the dive guides will help arrange buddy teams with the guests. And don't worry, you can always do all your dives directly with a dive guide as your buddy if you prefer!

The Nautilus Two offers different safaris throughout the year.

The peak season in the Maldives runs from November to April. While May to October is usually called the off-season, things have changed a bit due to global climate change. Now, the weather and visibility during the 'off-season' can often be just as good as in the peak season!

Dive spots in the Maldives are usually between 5 meters (that's the reef top!) and 30 meters deep. The maximum legal diving depth here is 30 meters.

A reef hook is not mandatory but recommended, as the currents in the Maldives can be very strong depending on the season.

If you have your own dive light, we definitely recommend bringing it along! As every diver knows, a light comes in handy even in shallower areas like overhangs or caves.

If you'd like to rent a dive light for your trip, you can totally do that for a small fee.

Besides your diving or snorkeling gear and swimwear, we also suggest bringing a light beach towel, a headband to protect your ears, sunscreen, and maybe some longer, light clothes for the evenings. If you fancy sleeping on deck under the stars, a light sleeping bag would be a good idea.

We really recommend diving with Nitrox in the Maldives, but you'll need a Nitrox certificate for that.

Our membrane system produces Nitrox 1 EAN 32 (+/- 2%). You can book a Nitrox package for the tour in advance (€ 16,- / night). If you order fills individually on board, it'll cost € 6,- (+ 10% Service Charge + 16% TGST-Tax) per dive.

You'll find a decompression chamber with medical supervision on Bandos & Kuramathi islands.
Public and private hospitals are located in Malé and Hulhumalé.

We offer safaris with different lengths between 7 nights to 12 nights, depending on the season & routing.

Our one-way tours from January to March, which go from Malé to Gan or back from Gan to Malé, last for 12 nights. Depending on your international flight, you might need a domestic flight for one of the legs.

Currents in the Maldives can really vary a lot depending on the season and our route. During our trips from May to September/October, you can generally expect less current, as we tend to dive more at Thilas than in channels.

From November to April, we usually focus on channel dives, where you might encounter stronger currents.

Especially on our one-way tours in the South of the Maldives, you should expect strong currents due to the atoll locations. That's why these trips are only really suitable for experienced divers.

All our dives are done from our dive Dhoni. Your diving equipment stays on the Dhoni for the whole safari, and your BCD and regulator can stay mounted on your tank for the entire trip. For the rest of your gear, each diver gets their own basket under the seat.

The Nautilus Two is one of the few safari boats in the Maldives equipped with the "ENOS" emergency & location system, which is super important for divers.
Every diver gets their own radio/GPS transmitter during the first two days, and you should attach it to your dive gear in two spots to make sure you don't lose it. If you do lose the transmitter, we'll unfortunately have to charge you for it. You'll get a detailed briefing on how to use it once you're on the boat.

We strongly recommend, for your own safety, getting a medical check-up for diving (every two years if you're under 40, and every year if you're over 40). Also, make sure you have dive insurance with good coverage.

General Questions about the Nautilus Two

Depending on when you arrive, one of our crew members will meet you in the arrival area after baggage claim and take you to the dive Dhoni, which will bring you straight to the Nautilus Two.

Please understand that there might be short waiting times sometimes. Of course, if needed, we'll arrange multiple transfers.

In order to ensure a smooth and timely departure of the Nautilus Two, the arrival in Malé should take place by noon at the latest - for arrivals later than 13:00 please contact us separately.

Once on board the Nautilus Two, we will welcome you with a refreshing welcome drink and show you our mandatory safety & boat briefing video.
We will then ask you to fill out our guest registration card and disclaimer.

On the last evening of your safari, our crew will let you know your transfer times. This usually happens 4 hours before your flight, as there can be delays at Malé airport due to how busy it gets.

If your check-out is after 12:00 PM because of your flight time, we offer you the option to book a "Late Check-Out." You can stay on board with full meals and keep your cabin until 8:00 PM at the latest for an extra charge of EUR 80 per person, which includes an extra transfer.
(This is only possible if you book in advance!)

Our cabins are super spacious at 20m² and got a fresh makeover in summer 2022.
Each one comes with its own bathroom (with a toilet, of course!), a desk with a stool and mirror, a wardrobe, and plenty of storage space, so you can easily tuck away your suitcases and dive bags under the beds.

You can control the air conditioning in your cabin however you like. But if you prefer not to use it, don't worry! Our big roof and side hatches will give you plenty of fresh air and keep things cool.

Our salon isn't air-conditioned because it has windows that open all the way, so there's usually a nice breeze flowing through. But don't worry, all our cabins have their own adjustable air conditioning!

We have a water dispenser available 24/7 for you. This water comes from our two desalination plants on board, which produce 10 tons of fresh drinking water every day. Plus, we carry an extra 8-ton daily tank. Even with all that, please try to be mindful and save water when you can!

The Nautilus Two has two cabins on the upper deck. One of them comes with a king-size double bed, and the other has both a king-size double bed and a king-size single bed.

We'll provide you with a bath towel for your cabin (plus a hand towel) and another one for sunbathing. Even though we have plenty of towels on board, if you like, you might want to bring your own lightweight beach towel, as we have limited laundry facilities during a safari.

We offer our guests free WIFI for messaging & e-mails. You can obtain the access code from our salon manager. Please note that there may be no or only sporadic connection between the atolls/islands. There is no entitlement to a refund in the event of poor functionality.

If you need more data, for things like streaming, you can buy local SIM cards right after arriving at Malé airport.

We've got you covered with full-board buffet meals on board. Just a friendly reminder to drink plenty of water while you're in the Maldives! Our chef always does their best to whip up a variety of delicious dishes for you in their small kitchen. Keep in mind that almost all food, except for seafood, fish, and coconut products, has to be imported and brought along. So, please let us know about any food allergies or intolerances before you arrive.

We have 220V power available 24 hours a day. You won't need an adapter for Austrian/German (two-pin) plugs. We also have some British (three-pin) plugs available on board. There's a big charging station in the salon too. Just a heads-up: for safety reasons, please don't charge your devices in your cabin – it's a fire risk!

There are a total of three emergency kits on board. 2 directly on the ship and one on the diving dhoni. There are also two defibrillators - one in the salon and one on the diving dhoni.

On top of that, the Nautilus Two has two 50L oxygen tanks with regulator units – one in cabin 213 and one on the dive dhoni.

You'll find other emergency numbers and an emergency plan posted in the salon.

Please, please do NOT jump into the water when the engines are running. Always check with the captain or crew first to make sure it's safe to swim (due to currents, etc.) before you hop in.

After your swim, please don't enter the salon while you're still wet (it can be slippery!). We're happy to provide towels, but since we have a limited supply, we also suggest bringing an extra beach towel of your own.

The crew will happily fill it with saltwater for you whenever you ask. Since the boat is always moving, we can't keep the hot tub filled all the time, so it needs to be emptied and refilled as needed.

On board and on the islands, we prefer payment in foreign currencies like Euros or US Dollars. We also accept credit cards on board.

Tips are usually part of your safari price. But if you're super happy with our crew and their service, they'd totally appreciate an extra tip! At the end of your trip, you'll find an envelope in your cabin where you can pop in any extra tips for the crew. It'll then be shared fairly among everyone. Thanks a bunch!
