Amira
Liveaboard
Diving experience
The Amira - a sailing schooner of no less than 52 meters in length, built of wood in the Phinisi style - has been taking its guests on new discovery tours through one of the most beautiful and varied diving areas in the world - Indonesia - since 2010.
The magnificent diving area and of course the dreamlike Amira itself - which is under German/Swiss management - offer everything that makes a diver's heart beat faster.
The best thing is to see for yourself...

Enclosed you will find some routing examples:
Raja Ampat
With over 600 coral species, a vast array of colorful macro life and many fish species of all sizes, Raja Ampat is a hotspot of biodiversity. Respected marine biologists have described this area as a "species factory".
In West Papua, the Amira visits the most beautiful dive sites in Raja Ampat. The tour first takes you to the north of Raja Ampat, where the spectacular scenery and fish-rich dives are sure to delight.
The second part of the tour leads to the coral and macro paradise near Misool Island. Dive sites such as Gorgonian Passage, Fiabacet and many others guarantee overwhelmingly colorful and fish-rich dives.
The tour culminates at the famous dive sites at Daram or Balbulol.
Misool & Triton Bay
At Misool Island, guests can expect a colorful mix of beautiful reefs, macro life, lots of fish, sharks and wobegongs, but sometimes also strong currents.
Dive sites such as Fiabacet and Gorgonian Passage make every diver's heart beat faster. With the highest biodiversity of all, this magnificent diving area has already achieved worldwide fame.
Triton Bay, at the south-easternmost end of the Bird's Head of New Guinea, is considered an absolutely world-class dive site with its own fascination. It is also still relatively little dived. The wonderful diversity of species, unique soft coral gardens, huge forests of black coral and rugged rocks make for fantastic scenery both above and below the water.
Misool & Halmahera
West Papua is without doubt the best diving area in Indonesia and one of the best diving destinations in the world. The Moluccas still offer many undived areas.
The tour leads from Sorong to the underwater highlights of Misool. The dive sites at Pulau Pisang offer oceanic dives with very good visibility.
In the south of Bacan, dives rich in currents and fish are on the program. Critter dives on black volcanic sand follow not far from here. The Guraici archipelago is home to some of Halmahera's best dive sites - with steep walls, colorful reefs and schools of reef fish.
Triton Bay & East Banda
Triton Bay, located at the southernmost end of the Bird's Head of New Guinea, is a world-class dive site with its own fascination. It is rarely dived and boasts a wonderful diversity of species. Unique soft coral gardens, huge forests of black coral and rugged rocks make for fantastic scenery both above and below the water.
East Banda is a little frequented but diverse tropical island landscape, where crystal clear water, beautiful drop-offs and endless gardens of table corals make every diver's heart beat faster. Schools of barracudas and Napoleon fish of impressive size can be encountered at the current-rich dive sites.
Forgotten Islands
Deep blue, clear water, endless reefs, spectacular cliffs, colorful corals, schools of fish - a dream for every diver.
Komodo (from/to Bajo)
Dives at famous, fish-rich spots such as Castle Rock and Manta Valley make divers' hearts beat faster. Strong currents here lead to spectacular dives with large numbers of fish. Schools of fish, sharks and manta rays are almost guaranteed here.
South of Komodo is the island of Rinca with Horseshoe Bay. Magnificently overgrown steep walls and exceptional macro dives make Rinca another highlight of the tour. Cannibal Rock and Larry's Yellow Wall of Texas are also a treat for demanding divers.
Kalimantan
Although Kalimantan - where visibility is 20-30 meters all year round - is still one of the insider tips for divers, one highlight follows the next on this tour. Starting with the island of Derawan, where muck divers get their money's worth in the rather shallow water: Seahorses, flamboyant cuttlefish, various species of frogfish, mandarinfish, blue-ringed octopus, wonderpus, ghost pipefish, etc. can be observed here.
The dive sites around Maratua are characterized by steep walls with strong to very strong currents. The intact underwater world is home to beautiful corals, many turtles, reef sharks, eagle rays and an immense school of barracuda.
The steep walls of Kakaban Island southeast of Martua offer great drift diving. Fox sharks, leopard sharks and other sharks are very common here. Kakaban is also home to Jellyfish Lake with a large number of harmless, non-noble jellyfish.
Beautiful coral gardens surround the island of Sangalaki. The variety under water is enormous. From jacks, mackerel and snappers to tunas, barracudas, devil rays and reef sharks, everything is represented.
