At Kusu Island Resort, nestled in the remote and largely untouched region of Halmahera, luxury meets nature.
It's known as the most luxurious and exclusive dive resort in the area, boasting eight fancy villas, a restaurant, a dive center, and two jetties.

This island sits right in the heart of the Coral Triangle, which is super famous worldwide as the most important spot for marine biodiversity. The reefs around Kusu Island are totally pristine and offer an incredibly colorful underwater world.
Guests at the resort get to experience an unforgettable vacation, filled with excellent service and unparalleled diving & snorkeling adventures on this peaceful and secluded island. Nature lovers also have the chance to explore the island's untouched rainforests and mangroves, which are home to tons of fascinating creatures like butterflies, various bird species, and monitor lizards.
OCEAN VILLAS
The villas, built right on stilts over the sea, feature an open living & sleeping area, a luxurious bathroom, and a spacious veranda with private sea access.
You can reach the breathtaking underwater world surrounding Kusu with just a few fin kicks. From your villa, you can enjoy the crystal-clear water with amazing sea views, all in total privacy.
Each villa is unique, thanks to its sustainable furniture made from materials like driftwood and the incredible attention to detail. The open living area features a large double bed or, if you prefer, two single beds with mosquito nets, a desk, a cozy seating area with a coffee table, and an open wardrobe.
Plus, all villas come with air conditioning, European 220V power outlets, a mini-fridge, and a safe. In the bathroom, you'll also find biodegradable shower gel, shampoo, conditioner, and both bath & beach towels.

- Restaurant
The Kusu Island Resort's restaurant is also located right by the sea. With a fully glass front that can be completely opened, you can soak in breathtaking ocean views from every angle.
Treat your senses to Indonesian and international specialties.
The restaurant's chill-out area is open all day. You'll find comfy sofas and coffee tables here, all made from sustainable materials. It's the perfect spot to enjoy a cup of coffee, tea, or a refreshing cocktail while gazing at the sea and watching the little blacktip reef sharks swim by.
We serve three meals a day, plus freshly baked treats for afternoon tea. Coffee, tea, and fresh fruit are available for guests anytime.

For your personal internet access, we provide SIM cards at the reception (2 GB per week per room).

For some relaxation, we offer various wellness treatments that you can enjoy either in the privacy of your own villa or on the spacious veranda overlooking the sea.

We also offer kayaking trips in traditional Indonesian wooden boats, which are a fantastic way to explore the island's untouched bays, beaches, and fascinating natural wonders. It's an amazing experience you definitely shouldn't miss!
Located right in the Coral Triangle, the underwater world around the island is home to over 3,000 fish species & 600 coral species.
Besides miles of colorful reefs teeming with marine life, Kusu is also located within a 5-mile marine protected area where commercial fishing boats aren't allowed.
The huge variety of spectacular dive sites for every experience level makes this a true paradise for divers & snorkelers. You can admire untouched and spectacular reefs that have only recently been discovered, and enjoy dive spots right on your doorstep.
From big fish like tuna, dolphins, whales, manta rays, and sharks, to huge schools of fish and even macro creatures like pygmy seahorses and nudibranchs, the reefs here are bursting with life! You'll find hard coral gardens, lush colorful soft corals, and gorgonians. The underwater landscape is super diverse too, with drop-offs, slopes, caves, overhangs, seagrass beds, and underwater pinnacles.
DIVING CENTER
Our dive & watersports center is located at the end of the jetty, giving you easy access to the amazing house reef.
It's got a camera room, a spot to store your personal gear, comfy indoor & outdoor areas for chilling out, a small souvenir shop, and four freshwater sinks and showers.
You can reach at least 40 well-known dive & snorkel spots in less than 15 minutes, with many of them right on Kusu's fringing reef.
Even though Kusu Island is pretty remote, it's still easy to get to. After your international flight to Jakarta, Manado, or Makassar, you'll continue via Ternate to Labuha, where a resort team member will personally welcome you.
Then, after a 40-minute speedboat ride, you'll be checking into the resort for an unforgettable vacation!
