The amazing boutique resort Coral Eye is nestled in the southwest of Bangka Island in North Sulawesi – right in the heart of the Coral Triangle.

Once a base for marine studies, Coral Eye Bangka has evolved into a spot that equally excites diving enthusiasts, underwater photographers & marine biologists.

This boutique resort aims to put its guests at the heart of the experience, creating a unique environment where people connect through their shared passion for the ocean, experiencing and sharing unforgettable moments together. Built from natural materials, the resort almost invisibly blends in with the island.

With no shops or restaurants, Bangka, with its forests, mangroves, coconut plantations, and untouched white sand beaches, is the perfect spot to escape the daily grind and immerse yourself in a truly special vibe.

Enjoy your vacation at Coral Eye and let the magic of this unique place completely charm you.

VILLAS & ROOMS
The resort's rooms and villas are designed to give you ultimate comfort and a real island vibe. They all come with their own bathroom, air conditioning, a ceiling fan, plus comfy mattresses and cotton bedding. You'll also find mosquito nets on the windows.

  • Villa

Our 7 spacious, 100m² villas with beach views are perfect if you're looking for privacy and want to be super close to the stunning white sandy beach. They come with a double bed, indoor and outdoor lounge areas, an open-air bathroom, a minibar, and coffee & tea facilities. Here, you can chill out to the sound of the waves and soak in the amazing ocean views right from your villa.

  • Garden Villa

The Garden Villas are nestled in the private house of the Coral Eye Garden and feature two Superior Rooms, each with its own bathroom, plus a shared open lounge area. They're just perfect for families, couples, or friends.

  • Superior Room

Up on the first floor of the resort, you'll find our 6 large Superior Rooms. They come with either two extra-large single beds or a double bed and share a spacious terrace with amazing sea views.

This terrace really embodies Coral Eye's original community vibe and is the perfect spot to chat or just chill out after a long day of diving or exploring Bangka Island.

  •  Sea View Superior Room

This cozy, slightly smaller room is located on the first floor right above the dive center and has a private terrace with breathtaking views of the ocean and the beautiful beach. It might be a bit smaller, but it definitely doesn't skimp on comfort or convenience, making it perfect for guests who love being close to the dive center and enjoying those fantastic views.

FACILITIES
Right in the heart of the resort, you'll find a large square table that's seen as the centerpiece and the main social hub of Coral Eye. It's a place where guests gather to chat and share unforgettable moments together. It really embodies the connection and community that guests will experience at the resort.

  • Dining

Our kitchen is known for a wide selection of homemade seasonal dishes that blend the rich flavors of Indonesian cuisine with Mediterranean recipes. Our creative chefs use fresh, local ingredients to whip up authentic and delicious meals that guests absolutely love. For example, all our fish comes straight from local fishermen.

To help protect the environment as much as possible, we mostly avoid processed foods and plastic packaging.

At Coral Eye, our food philosophy is all about quality and simplicity. We really value the tradition of enjoying good food together while having lovely conversations, and it's something we cherish here at the resort.

  • Bar

At our friendly bar, you'll find an extensive menu featuring both classic cocktails and unique signature drinks that you'll love.

For beer lovers, we serve the popular Indonesian Bintang beer, and for wine enthusiasts, there's something truly special: Isola wine from Cantine Balita. This renowned winery in Bali blends Balinese and Italian farming techniques to create a range of delicious wines.

ACTIVITIES
Even though there are no roads on the island, you can still hike through the lush jungle to visit the picturesque fishing village of Lihunu, or take a relaxed stroll along the beach that leads you to the charming village of Busa Bora.

  • SPA & Wellness

Since massages and wellness have been deeply rooted in Indonesian culture for centuries, the resort also has a SPA, which was actually built by our staff in 2020! During your treatment, let yourself be pampered with natural oils that our SPA therapist makes personally.

  • Tangkoko Reserve

You can also explore the mainland of North Sulawesi by visiting the Tangkoko Jungle Reserve. This reserve is amazing, with its unique forests full of ancient trees and an incredible variety of animals. Here, you might spot the Sulawesi Tarsier – the smallest known primate species – as well as groups of endemic black macaques and the marsupial Cuscus.

  • Minahasan Highlands
The small town of Tomohon is nestled between two active volcanoes, Lokon and Mahawu. The surrounding highland region offers tons of activities and experiences. Hiking to the peaks of these volcanoes will challenge you, but also reward you with absolutely breathtaking views.

The Coral Triangle is definitely famous for its stunning underwater biodiversity.

With over 30 amazing dive sites, Bangka is a real treasure chest for divers! You'll find all sorts of diving experiences, from lively volcanic pinnacles to untouched coral reef slopes, sandy slopes, mangroves, and impressive rock walls.
And the best part is, all these dive spots are super easy to get to by boat from the resort, usually within 5 to 40 minutes. This means you get more time to explore the amazing underwater world and make unforgettable memories.

You might spot pygmy seahorses cleverly hiding among the corals, leaf fish perfectly blending in with their camouflage, and even blacktip & whitetip reef sharks, frogfish, nudibranchs, and rare dugongs.

You can pretty much dive all year round here, but April to November is when conditions are just perfect! The water temperature hovers around 29°C, and you can see up to 30 meters. In winter, visibility usually drops a bit because of waves and potential rain.

CORAL EYE DIVING CENTER
Our dive center, right on the beach with a cool terrace, gives every guest their own wet cell to wash and store their dive gear. And for all you photographers out there, we've got a special camera room just for you!

We deliberately keep our groups small, with a maximum of 4 divers per guide, so we can offer you the best personalized service. Our local guides are all certified Dive Masters and have tons of experience in the waters around Bangka, ready to give you unforgettable diving adventures.

DIVES
Around 8 AM, the boats head out to take you on two dives. We pick the dive spots based on what our guests want and the current weather conditions.

During the boat ride, we'll have fresh water, hot coffee & tea, plus snacks and fresh fruit for you.

In the afternoon, you can choose between boat dives or diving right from the jetty at our house reef. Night dives are usually organized from the jetty around 6 PM.

If you'd like, we can also arrange full-day trips to the Lembeh Strait or to the breathtaking dive spots of Bunaken.

SNORKELING
It's not just divers who'll love Coral Eye Bangka – snorkelers will have a blast too! Right from the jetty, you'll find stunning coral gardens and fascinating creatures just waiting to be discovered, right below the surface.

You can snorkel about 1 km along the reef to the village of Busa Bora, or head the other way to check out the spectacular mangroves.

Thanks to our jetty, you can easily get into the water at any tide to explore the magical underwater world.

To reach the enchanting island of Bangka, we'll plan your trip via Manado – the capital of Sulawesi.
You can get to Manado, for example, via Singapore, Jakarta, or Denpasar, with a flight time of about 1.5 hours.

Once you land in Manado, a friendly Coral Eye Bangka team member will greet you. They'll take you on about a 1-hour car ride to Pantai Surabaya, from where you'll hop on a speedboat for a 30-minute ride to Bangka Island. There, the resort team will give you a warm welcome!

Transfers are available between 7 AM and 4 PM. For safety reasons, we can't guarantee transfers before sunrise or after sunset.
