The Nautilus UnderSea got a refit in 2017. It's a former research vessel that first entered service in 1968 and is the newest addition to the Nautilus Liveaboard fleet.
This sturdy and safe ship takes its divers to the most unforgettable diving experiences around the Socorro diving areas.
It's also one of the world's most famous dive boats, not just because it was featured in the well-known James Bond movie "Licence to Kill".
The liveaboard Nautilus UnderSea is 32 meters long and can accommodate 19 divers in 9 cabins.
CABINS
- 9 Cabins with space for a total of 19 Guests
Sundeck: 1 Premium Suite with two beds that can be combined into a king-size bed
Main Deck: 1 cabin with 2 bunk beds
Lower Deck: 6 cabins with bunk beds
Dive Deck: 1 accessible cabin with 2 single beds, located right next to the dive deck.All cabins come with their own bathroom, including a shower and toilet, plus individually controlled air conditioning. They offer plenty of space to store your personal belongings. The Premium Suite on the sundeck also has a flatscreen TV, even more storage, and almost direct access to the hot tub.

Besides the dining area, the ship has a cozy lounge with entertainment on the main deck, offering plenty of space to relax between dives. - Sundeck
On top of all the other amenities, the ship also boasts a hot tub on the sundeck.

- The kitchen crew spoils guests with freshly prepared international and national delicacies. Plus, there's a wide selection of international drinks waiting for you at the bar.

When you travel with the Nautilus UnderSea around Socorro, it's all about the giant manta rays, famous worldwide in this region, with a wingspan of up to 7 meters.
Not only is the incredible number of mantas remarkable, but also the amazing trust these majestic animals show towards divers. The interaction between animal and human is one of the things that makes a Socorro trip a truly magical experience.
Besides encountering giant manta rays, you can also find over 10 different shark species here, as well as dolphins, whale sharks, and even breathtaking humpback whale sightings are possible.

The huge dive deck is at water level, which makes getting in and out of the tenders super easy, and offers plenty of space for all 19 divers and their gear. - Equipment
Freshwater rinse tanks for your gear and equipment, plus charging stations for cameras, are all right there on the dive deck. - Nitrox

The crossing from Cabo San Lucas to Socorro takes about 24 hours. The islands are accessed from Cabo San Lucas in Baja California, Mexico. The 8 to 9-night trips run in November and from January to April.

Here's a classic route description for the trip to the Socorro Islands.
Socorro – Giant Mantas
Day 1
Meet at the dive center in Cabo San Lucas. The Nautilus UnderSea will be ready for boarding from 8:00 PM. If you're interested, you can also do some local dives before boarding, like at Gordo Banks, Cabo Pulmo, or with the whale sharks in La Paz.
Day 2
Today is all about “traveling and relaxing at sea,” as the journey takes about 24 hours – and we've got entertainment covered!
In the morning, there'll be a ship briefing, followed by a safety drill, and then plenty of time to assemble your gear and chill out until we arrive in San Benedicto in the evening.
Days 3 – 7
Over the next 5 days, we'll be diving at the region's most famous spots like El Canyon, Boiler, Red Rocks, Roca Partida, Cabo Pearse, Punta Tosca, and Roca Oneal. You can also go kayaking, stand-up paddleboarding, or even whale watching for humpbacks.
Day 8
Early in the morning, we'll start our journey back to Cabo San Lucas. This is a great time to look back together at all the amazing experiences and memories from the past few days.
Day 9
At 8:30 AM, you'll disembark the ship and transfer to the airport.
