When they built the resort, they really made sure to protect the natural surroundings and use as many eco-friendly materials as possible. This means you get a luxurious stay that's also kind to the planet.

The whole idea behind Pura Vida Beach & Dive Resort is to help you really embrace and experience the “Pure Life” – that pure feeling of living – throughout your visit, just like the name says!

You'll find this spacious beach resort in Dauin, about 16 km south of Dumaguete City, Negros. It's run by Swiss folks and was built specifically with divers in mind. On top of a super modern dive center, there are also loads of other awesome facilities and activities that the whole family will love.

When it came to designing the restaurant, rooms, and even building the bamboo cottages, the resort worked really closely with the 'Buglas Bamboo Institute.' This is a development project backed by Europe, and it's located just a few kilometers south of the resort in Dauin.

BUNGALOW ROOMS & VILLAS

The resort has a total of 31 rooms, split into five different types. So, you can totally customize your stay just how you want it – whether you're after more comfort & luxury or a really natural experience.

All the rooms are really spacious and give you amazing views of the ocean and the beautiful garden around you. You'll find a minibar, fridge, safe, cable TV, and a cozy veranda or balcony in each one. It's the perfect place to just kick back and forget about your busy everyday life!

You won't find boring old room numbers at Pura Vida Resort! Instead, they had this awesome idea to name each room and bungalow after a cool marine animal that lives right here in the area.

  • Deluxe Room

Our 12 Deluxe Rooms are designed like bungalows and are spread out from the pool area right down to the beach, either as single or double units.

Eight of them have two comfy single beds that you can join to make a double, and four rooms feature a Queen-Size bed. They've all been recently spruced up and now boast a roomy walk-in closet and super comfy bathrooms.

Your room opens right onto a cozy terrace, perfect for chilling out and enjoying all the beautiful greenery around you.

  • Family Room – Dolphin

The Dolphin room is our most spacious room at Pura Vida Resort! It's got a Queensize bed and two single beds with a little divider in between. You'll find it on the ground floor, just below the suite, and it's also accessible for everyone.

You get a terrace with cool, typical Filipino furniture, giving you a super peaceful view of the garden. Inside, there's air conditioning, a minibar, a safe, and free coffee & tea stuff. And get this, the bathroom is accessible from both sleeping spots!

  • Family Room – Moorish & Blue Ring Octopus

Our 'Moorish Idol' & 'Blue Ring Octopus' family rooms are perfect for families because they come with a connecting door! Each room also has its own bathroom, air conditioning, and a veranda where you can chill out and enjoy the peaceful garden and spa. And with the option of a Queensize bed or two single beds, these rooms are super handy for families.

  • Family Room – Hammerhead

This room lets you choose between two single beds or a king-size bed. On the spacious veranda, you'll find comfy sofas, chairs & tables, where you can enjoy breathtaking garden views and wind down your day with a nice glass of wine.

  • Suite

The resort offers 2 suites named 'Stargazer' and 'Birds Nest'. Both are located on the 2nd floor, right above the family rooms.

The spacious balconies offer a small bar with a fridge and 2 sun loungers, from which you can enjoy a breathtaking view of the tropical garden, pool, and ocean can be enjoyed.

Each suite also has a living room with a comfy double sofa, two single armchairs, and a high-quality bamboo table.

FACILITIES

  • Restaurant

Since food also plays a huge role in making your stay unforgettable, we always make sure to create menus that cater to every taste. And what goes better with great food than a nice glass of wine from the resort's very own wine cellar?

We use fresh and seasonal ingredients, and regular visits to local markets ensure we can meet our guests' needs and spoil their taste buds as much as possible during their stay.

The restaurant is located between Pura Vida and Vida Homes, offering picturesque views of the ocean and the pool. You can choose to dine on the beach in the Tiki huts, on the comfy outdoor balcony, or inside the air-conditioned area.

  • 99er’s Bar & Lounge

Whether you're craving fresh fruit juices or shakes during the day, or a cold beer or cocktail after an exciting day of diving, our beach bar invites you to relax and enjoy the day.

Here, our chef also prepares delicious snacks like pizzas, sandwiches, burgers, and local and international treats, all fresh and made to order.

You can also play billiards, foosball, or darts here while chilling out to some music.

ACTIVITIES

  • Vida SPA

Our spa is nestled in the lush garden in a peaceful setting, offering a wide range of professional massages & beauty treatments.

  • Vida Fit – Fitness Center

The Vida Spa is the perfect oasis to relax and pamper yourself after an exciting day of diving or exploring the island. Guests of the resort can use the air-conditioned fitness center for free. Whether you want to work out after a dive or just keep up with your fitness routine, the gym has a selection of cardio & strength equipment, plus a room for stretching and yoga.

Negros – the second-largest island in the Visayas region – is super famous worldwide as a 'muck' diving spot because it's home to so many sandy and unusual creatures. The island is surrounded by marine protected areas and boasts over 30 exciting dive sites that are perfect for incredible macro & night dives.

An absolute highlight is Apo Island – a 72-hectare volcanic island. In 2008, Sport Diver Magazine named Apo Island one of the
top 100 dive sites in the world – and it's still one of the best diving destinations today.

Here, you can marvel at unique rock formations, over 650 documented fish species, and more than 400 coral types. Apo Island's proximity to the resort makes every diver's dream come true.

SEA EXPLORERS DIVE CENTER
The Sea Explorers Dive Center was created by divers, for divers! It even has a swimming pool specifically designed for both a lovely, refreshing dip and for all your dive training.

To reach the Pura Vida Resort on Negros/Dauin, you can either take a domestic flight from Manila to Dumaguete (we recommend planning an overnight stay in Manila for this option), or you can fly into Cebu Airport and then take an onward transfer of about 5 to 6 hours.
