Bonaire Island is located north of Venezuela in the southern Caribbean and is one of the so-called ABC Islands of the Lesser Antilles, along with Aruba and Curacao.
Bonaire is known as one of the best diving destinations in the Caribbean and consistently receives awards for it.
The underwater world here is amazing, with impressive coral reefs starting at just 5 meters deep. It's also loved for its long-forgotten shipwrecks and nearly 500 different fish species.
The island's dive sites are protected from currents because of their location, making them an unforgettable experience for both beginners and advanced divers.
A perfect year-round spot...
You can dive in Bonaire right from the shore or from a boat. For those dive spots further out in the Bonaire National Marine Park, you'll definitely want to plan some boat dives.
Even though Bonaire is an awesome year-round spot, April to November are probably the best months to visit. It's the dry season then, meaning lots of sunshine and hardly any rain!
The ocean conditions stay super stable all season, and you can look forward to water temperatures around 29° Celsius and air temperatures up to 31° Celsius.
During this time, you can perfectly combine your dives with some chill hours on one of the 22 pearly-white sandy beaches or exploring the island.
Since Bonaire is outside the hurricane zone, it's less at risk than other Caribbean islands.
The east side, along with the north and south tip of the island, aren't really suitable for diving because of the waves and tricky shore. Just like most other tourism, diving mostly happens on the west coast. You'll find a whopping 60 dive spots, mostly signposted and marked with yellow stones, all along the coastal road. Plus, there are even more amazing dive sites with some of the world's most beautiful coral reefs around the nearby "Klein Bonaire" island.
...both on water and on land
For a cool land trip, check out the Washington-Slagbaai National Park at the northern tip. It covers 20% of the island and is home to over 130 exotic bird species, huge cactus forests, reptiles, and flamingo colonies!
In the flat south, they've been harvesting salt for over 500 years! You can often spot flamingos in the salt lakes there too. The island's north side gets strong trade winds and waves, making it a perfect spot to visit and marvel at this natural show.
When it comes to food, you absolutely have to try the big conch shells – they're a real delicacy – at one of the beach snack bars. You'll see piles of these sea snail shells at Lac Bay in the southeast, showing just how much the local weekenders love to eat them!
WANNADIVE BONAIRE DIVING CENTER
The WannaDive dive center, which is part of both the Eden Beach Resort and Grand Windsock Resort, is fully equipped and has a multilingual crew. They offer guests of both resorts all sorts of diving activities at different spots all around Bonaire, an island famous for its amazing diving.

Standard Double Room
These rooms are specially designed for active travelers, offering a comfy and affordable place to crash. The centrally air-conditioned rooms are 26m² (about 280 sq ft), come with either a king-size bed or two single beds, and are located on the first and second floors.
Studio
The comfy, spacious studios are 40m² (about 430 sq ft) and also come with a fully equipped kitchen. You can choose from studios with a terrace located at the resort entrance, overlooking the parking lot and our WannaDive dive center's reception, or studios with a terrace closer to the pool and beach, which are a bit pricier because of their prime location and/or view.
King Studio
The King Studios are 45m² (about 484 sq ft), located on the 2nd floor, and come with a fully equipped kitchen, a separate bedroom, and a roomy balcony with ocean views – perfect for enjoying those stunning Caribbean sunsets!
2-Bedroom Apartment
These comfy and spacious 80m² apartments, spread over two levels, offer an air-conditioned living room with a dining area, a fully equipped kitchen, and a separate guest toilet on the ground floor. Upstairs, on the second floor, you'll find two bedrooms: one with a king-size bed and the other with two single beds. Each bedroom has its own private bathroom and air conditioning. Depending on where they're located, your apartment's lovely terrace might be across from the dive center, near the pool, or right by the beach, perfect for soaking in those gorgeous Caribbean sunsets.

Ground floor apartments come with a poolside terrace and a veranda. Those on the first floor offer sea views, and the penthouses on the top floor give you amazing views of the Caribbean Sea.
Villas
Our private villas are super spacious, up to 150m², surrounded by beautiful tropical gardens, and offer lots of privacy. They'll impress you with their modern style and luxurious interiors. The villas come with multiple bathrooms, large outdoor terraces, and private parking. Some even have their own private swimming pool – how cool is that?
